Bend my will to Thee, O Lord
I can't remember
where I was when I first had thought to ask
where will we all go,
when we finally have breathed our last?
At such a tender age,
I heard my mother say
"Bend your will to Him, my boy."
When I was quite young
and almost blinded by a gun
the doctor gently said,
that more than luck had come this day so,
bend your will to Him, in thanks.
Bend my will to You
Bend my will
Bend my will to You, O Lord
Now as I grow old
Some things are more clear
and others less so
But what has never changed
Is that we're all still just a mess, so
when my children ask,
"How should we spend the day?"
There is just one reply
I can make, I can make
"Bend your will to Him,
Bend your will
Bend your will to Him, today and everyday"
Bend our will to You
Bend our will
Bend our will to You, O Lord

World is thy ship

World is Thy Ship
It never comes undone
the way I feared it would
to live a life under your hands,
how can it so misunderstood?
In little more than a whisper
You have called me from the danger
like the breadcrumbs of Hansel
You have led me to my Savior
You have called us aside
To suffer inside
From time to time
The world is thy ship,
not thy home
even though it doesn't seem so
it's all that we know
so only with help
can we ever let go
You have called us aside
To suffer inside
From time to time

Chaste heart, pagan land

Chaste Heart, Pagan Land
I remember times
beneath a foreign sky,
but still there was such beauty to it all
I remember days
as vivid as the sun
words could not begin to tell
the love I've known
Underneath it all
I'm having so much fun
to live the life I should is more than enough
I have heard the song
it beckons all day long
the sound will never cease to ring
in the age to come
Underneath it all
I'm having so much fun
to live the life I should is more than enough
And on the day we met
O how my heart had leapt
there was just one mission
from that moment on
Underneath it all
I'm having so much fun
to live the life I should is more than enough

Peter Johnston RVA Richmond, Virginia
To put it simply, Peter Johnston RVA is Catholic indie rock; you
wouldn't hear this at mass, but it does
try to prove that traditional Catholic thought and indie rock are not mutually exclusive. It began easily enough as a few home recordings but has slowly turned into a full on project that explores matters of human dignity and common good in society.
Sincerely yours,
Peter Johnston RVA
