While precious few words are written of Simeon, we know that his eyes were among the first to recognize the Messiah of Israel. Who was this just and patient man, who will be forever known as the God receiver? Despite years of waiting, his steadfast and pious faith and trust would not go unfulfilled.

This track attempts to view the world from Simeon's perspective on that sacred day of the Presentation in the Temple. While that day likely started like any other for this aged, holy soul, it would unfold like no other and conclude with the comfort of a promise kept at the summit of a life well lived.

To put it simply, Peter Johnston RVA is Catholic indie rock; you
wouldn't hear this at mass, but it does try to prove that traditional Catholic thought and indie rock are not mutually exclusive. It began easily enough as a few home recordings but has slowly turned into a full on project that explores matters of human dignity and common good in society.
