lyrics

Little Match Girl

The angel took,
the little child
and bore her past the shining lights
beneath all the signs

The golden streets,
and the lilied banks
unto a quiet restful place,
where you would always stay

Where Mary sat, with such wistful eyes
and with tender smile and outstretched hands
you'll soon be in paradise
To be so small, and so mother-lost,
she could not bear the bliss of heaven
as she looked through the frost

A gentle voice dispels the fears
and dims the pain
so dazzled and half afraid
all the tears, have dried away
the mother-heart where Christ once laid

about

Peter Johnston RVA Richmond, Virginia

To put it simply, Peter Johnston RVA is Catholic indie rock; you
wouldn't hear this at mass, but it does try to prove that traditional Catholic thought and indie rock are not mutually exclusive. It began easily enough as a few home recordings but has slowly turned into a full on project that explores matters of human dignity and common good in society.
Sincerely yours,
Peter Johnston RVA
